WHO WE ARE

“I started as a heavy equipment operator. One of the department of Primary Structures offered me an opportunity which brought here, to become now a project specialist. Thank you for giving me such opportunity, for making my impossible dreams become possible. I’ve gained much respect, my family have live more comfortably than before, giving them good life. So far happy na, then wala na kaayoy gubot unya contented of what I am as long as I see my family happy, harmonious, as long as I can provide them. I always keep my feet on the ground. TATAK SKILLS! TATAK TESDA!”

Helen Ouano is one of the women who completed the six-month training of the SWG project. She was trained in Carpentry NC II, Masonry NC II, Tile Setting NC II, Plumbing NC II and Electrical Installation, and Maintenance NC II. She is currently assigned at the PGB’s North Park in Mandaue City as building maintenance personnel. 
Helen is from Compostela, Cebu. She is married and has three children. Her husband used to be the bread winner of the family but had a stroke due to hypertension. Because of his condition, he was forced to stop working that affected their household finances. Helen had depression. She didn’t know where to get funds for food, the children’s education allowance, and her husband’s maintenance medication. Her brother who works at PGB advised her to undergo skills training. She then enrolled in the SWG project of PSEFI SKILLS. 
After the training, she and other SWG graduates were hired by Primary Structures Corporation as maintenance personnel of PGB buildings. Helen is now earning, enabling her to support her family. The skills she gained from the program helped secure and protect the future of her family.
